In 465 BC, the Athenians, prompted by the young politician Pericles, undertake with great naval and land forces to help liberate Egypt from Persian rule and to crown Inarus as a new Pharaoh. The people who first began to rely on reason and establish the scientific method shortly before the Golden Age would soon discover that the desert hides both abominable and terrible secrets. Unspeakable dangers seem to lurk at every step of the Athenians in the golden sand. An invisible web is woven amidst epic battles and upheavals.
