The theater for children and young people has surpassed the stage of insignificance and has now established itself in the consciousness of both young and adult audiences as a unique form of artistic creation. Its systematic scientific approach, although it has already yielded results and enriched the relevant Greek literature, still presents gaps and deficiencies that this study attempts to cover.

As a result of collective scientific work by both young and established researchers, under the supervision and guidance of the editor, the autonomous studies in this volume address various aspects of the subject with a research spirit and original approach, such as communication codes and the use of music, the presence of ancient Greek literature and folklore, the sociological and pedagogical dimension of the genre, etc.

The general title "In the Land of Totora" encompasses all the parameters of the subject "Theater for young audiences," addressing issues of theater and pedagogy, historical and sociological approaches to the subject, which find their scientific recognition and rightful place among other fields of artistic activity and theater research.
