The 6th hp printer and probably the last one I am buying. Since hp acquired samsung's printers, their machines have been a drama. The only positive is the good print quality.
The installation is the most painful story... and time-consuming and requires programming skills. It was finally done by a programmer. Maybe my printer had a problem, because everyone who reviews it did so with great ease.
The consumables are very expensive for its category, even the compatible ones. Printing is done in batches. In case you want to print, for example, 15 pages, it prints 2, pauses for a few seconds, then prints another 4, pauses again... and so on.
The 1st printer purchased in 1998 still works and works correctly. What else can I tell you?
Also, I should mention the M209dwe far and beloved. This e makes the difference. It connects automatically to the manufacturer and if you haven't inserted the genuine hp toner... it simply doesn't work and won't until you install the company's one.
Without having previous experience with a printer, I did not have difficulty during installation as there are online videos to help. The initial setup was not difficult and I needed to get a USB-A male to USB-B male cable for connection to a PC, which is not included in the package. Once I connected the printer to the PC, the connection was immediate, and in a second step, the connection to Wi-Fi through the HP smart application was almost automatic, with no connection issues. Printing after giving the command is relatively fast, and both single-sided and double-sided printing are quick. It seems to work fine through Wi-Fi. The print quality is excellent. The build quality is okay, made of plastic, but I would prefer some parts to be of better quality. The HP smart application is okay on Android, but has some minor issues on Windows, without affecting the printer's functionality. For home use, it is great and very lightweight for office use. The official toner averages around €50 for the HP 135a. The reliability over time remains to be seen. Update 31/5/2024: It is excellent for the intended use. Also, I would like to add that there is a cashback offer of €25 from HP with the purchase of this specific LaserJet printer until 31/7/2024. For its price, it is excellent, connects very easily with all devices, prints double-sided quickly, its prints are very good, and a big advantage is that it is small in size. Its toners cost about €0.03 per page. It is ideal for home or a small office. There is also a similar model with the indication "dwe", which is an HP+ printer with a different operating mode than the regular "dw", as the "dwe" requires a permanent internet connection.
