"Children's Ideas about Children's Literature" is a pioneering project in the field of children's literature. The book thoroughly presents the evolution of the critique of reading response, thus complementing Greek literature, while simultaneously exploring the opinions of students about children's literature.

However, its most significant innovation is that it maps the opinions of students in the last three grades of Primary Education about children's literature and their reading preferences based on a survey in Greece. It depicts the behavior of students towards approaches to literary texts in the classroom and the presence of children's literature in the school curriculum, the role of the teacher in developing the student's love for reading, as well as the influence of the library on children's relationships with literary books.

At the same time, it records children's preferences for various genres of children's literature, particularly children's novels.
