Description

Jorge Sambalsa marks the section of the Tupamaro guerrillas in Uruguay, which did not compromise with power.

Today in this small country in Latin America, the Frente Amplio (Broad Front) governs, mainly composed of forces from the historic guerrilla of the Tupamaros. However, some did not succumb to the "realism" of governance and management.

This biography comes to remind the different paths for revolutionaries and the left in the modern world. As relevant as ever, it shows that management and submission to the dominant political-economic system lead to opposing and hostile paths for popular forces...

"[...] the former guerrillas who now govern Uruguay wanted to exile me. They wanted to take an exemplary measure against me, to silence those who still struggle for social liberation. They did not want to talk about subversive horizons; they wanted to bury any Marxist analysis that smelled of gunpowder. They sought to permanently stop class struggles and militant struggles. That is why they excommunicated and expelled the heretics from their paradise, forgetting that heresy was the ideological content of the legacy of Ernesto Che Guevara and Raúl Sendic."

Their government implements the model of internationalized capital, which establishes the role of the producer of raw materials and food that was assigned to Uruguay, which sells land to foreign capital, which pillages natural resources, [...] which implements a policy of repression in the popular neighborhoods of Montevideo while hindering the development of the labor movement, while signing agreements with entrepreneurs."

(Jorge Sambalsa, an eternal Tupamaro guerrilla)
