I had a rice cooker that my neighbor, who is Chinese, gave me. Suddenly it broke (it was already old) and I bought this one right away. There are 3 people in the house and at first I was a bit worried about the capacity. However, it is just fine. You press on, button and that's it. You let it sit for 10 minutes to cool down and then you take out the rice. It doesn't stick at all for me, unlike the previous one. The materials are a bit cheap (the steaming tray) but I don't mind. It definitely worths its money. Also, it is very cute if someone wants to keep it permanently on the counter.
The device is quite compact (0.8lt) and fits easily anywhere. It can boil up to 3 measures of rice, about 3x160 grams, a total of 480 grams, which is enough for 4-5 large servings.
The cooking time is relatively long, about 40 minutes if you start with cold water, definitely longer than the time it takes for a pot of similar size on a traditional stove.
The suggested amount of water probably leads to somewhat hard rice, but this also depends on the type of rice used. I think it needs a little more water, but this also limits the amount of rice you can cook as the capacity of the pot is calculated with the recommended amount of water. Of course, you can start cooking with the recommended amount and add a little more water later without any problem.
The machine stops cooking on its own when the water practically runs out, it does not work with a timer, it probably senses the end of the water by temperature. This creates a problem with the rice as it overheats it at the end and may create the crust that many people mention. The problem is easily solved, just turn off the switch as soon as the water disappears from the surface of the rice, do not wait for the machine to turn off on its own, in 10 minutes the rice will have absorbed all the water and the bottom will not be overheated.
You can also easily make pasta by adding more water and draining the excess water once it boils.
I have also used it as a steamer with the basket that comes with the package, but you have to manually calculate the time since it does not work with a timer.
Overall, I would say it is a very convenient device, small, makes very good rice and more. Maybe I would like it to be a little more powerful because it takes quite a while to boil the water
Very good and user-friendly. The rice doesn't stick at all. I mainly use Jasmine rice, which it makes very good! (1:1 ratio water:rice. For 2 servings, I put 2 scoops of rice and 2 water, I leave it until the switch turns on its own and I remove the basket with the rice from the device and let it cool down)
Awesome, it always makes perfect rice and nothing sticks. Just read the dosage and take a bite.
6 servings (3 deep plates) of rice. Just a little oil on the bottom with sunflower oil. You follow the instructions and make a rice .. incredible. It automatically closes, like a steamer.
Very good quality! The rice doesn't stick at all, just add a little sunflower oil with a brush on the bottom and edges (before adding rice and water)
