Description

The long practice of oncology in a public anticancer hospital is found on the ground of this diary that dares to become a book. In its pages, heart-wrenching true stories are recreated together with penetrating - gloomy or redemptive - reflections on the uncertain boundaries of life and death.

"Everyone follows different paths and everyone converges at the same door, the door of the doctor's office as the antechamber of the end; like at the neck of the bottle before the exit to the inhospitable or even hospitable chaos...
There I stand guard and wait for them, like priests set us up at the Exit - after all, doctors and priests look very similar, even at the "toll booths". The "there" is the doctor's office from where everyone will pass, otherwise the exit is not allowed. My own "toll booths" are their experiences; for years I have been collecting the essence of their narratives and storing it... I steal their words... I gather whatever remains from each person's delirium...
I suddenly went out unprepared into the storm; the storm of hand-to-hand combat with the desperate. Everyone asks "how do I endure", and they say that they wouldn't endure in my place. They don't imagine that I am grateful for it. It took me out into the open, into the vast waves, it taught me defeat, shipwreck, and the value of the battle against myths and invincible Demons and Angels...
Some things must come out, without embellishments, chewed words, and cover-ups...
Literature is perhaps a way to look at the hidden details of life that silently roll in the darkness..."
