Geodesy, supported by the evolution of technology, covers a wide scientific area. In the last twenty years, the rapid development of measurement instruments, as well as computational systems and measurement processing software, have had a positive impact on its areas of action. New methodologies have been developed, expanding the fields of intervention and application.

This element also served as the inspiration for the title of the book "Applied Geodesy".

In the individual chapters of this textbook, the elements (theoretical and applied) are presented, allowing for a correct understanding of the use of geodetic instruments and methods, the sequence of calculations, the drafting and verification of final derivatives.
