Description

The Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

The SL in the name stands for "Single Layer," referring to the new design used in these modules that helps reduce the overall height of the memory.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 16GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger the size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above features should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Vengeance RGB Pro SL provides a speed of 3600MT/s, with CL18 and 16 GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM modules, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL has (XMP 2.0/EXPO) profiles with performances:

  • Speed (XMP/EXPO): 3600 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP/EXPO): 18-22-22-42
  • Voltage (XMP/EXPO): 1.35V


RGB Lighting

The RGB lighting in the Vengeance RGB Pro SL series has all the means and functions to create a unique and impressive look on your computer.

You can achieve this either through the software provided by the company, iCUE, or with compatibility in Sync Up software provided by motherboard companies. The advantage of Sync Up is that we can synchronize the RGB lighting of the entire computer.

The Vengeance RGB Pro is compatible with Asus Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and MSI Mystic Light software.

    Good kit overall, I have it for a setup with 5800x and 3060 Ti, I installed them before enabling XMP and they seemed to work fine. When I enabled XMP, my PC simply crashed with a bluescreen. I lowered it to 3200 and so far, after stress testing (playing games with multiple applications running in the background, even opening Photoshop), I haven't encountered any issues. Corsair, as they say, is like playing a little bit of a joker to avoid any problems (especially with 4 RAM sticks), that's why I give it 4 stars. They are definitely beautiful, but it takes a bit of luck for them to reach their full potential.

    They were purchased ONLY because I wanted memory in WHITE color (And the truth is that they are absolutely beautiful, something that is not so evident in the photos!), in order to achieve the best possible uniformity with the rest of my white system. That's why I overlooked the CAS Latency (CL): 18-22-22-42, and thus replaced the previous Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB DDR4 CAS Latency (CL): 16-20-20-38, which I had in my system, and which were EXCELLENT but... in black color! To each their own..... Besides, the use I make on my computer is... VERY SIMPLE!!! The memories, however, worked perfectly with ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II/ Ryzen 5700x/ RTX 3060 Vision OC 12GB/ SSD KINGSTON KC 3000 1TB/ PSU CORSAIR RM 1000X, with the D.O.C.P(XMP) profile enabled!
