In this study, the cultural history of the visually structured "place of holiness", seen through the prism of a complex narrative on multiple levels, is perceived as a tangible framework for understanding the divine and as a continuous interpretation of the memory of this specific place. It is an interpretive perspective that aims to update the memory of a "live" place, constructed on the basis of complex relational determinations, which serve a ritual logic and action. The "place of holiness" constitutes a memorial deposit that contributes decisively to the formation of identities as well as to the interpretation of the relationship between the faithful and the surrounding space, narrating the experience of the "out of space" in the effort to establish a familiar place. Architectural and artistic production transform the abstract space into a mediated place, connecting it with history.
