The orange light stays active for a longer time when it is off the base, unlike when it is hanging, where it only stays active for a few minutes. It has secured well on the crib railing and does not shake, so there is no worry about it landing on the baby's head.

It is beautiful with nice sounds. I thought by reading the comments that they exaggerated about the motor noise, but they are right. The noise is louder than the sounds. It wakes up my own babies if I activate it while they are sleeping. I would not recommend it.
