Description

When they say that the modern world is in crisis, what they usually mean is that it has reached a critical point or, in other words, that a transformation is imminent, whether it be deep or shallow, and that a change in direction is inevitably going to happen very soon, willingly or unwillingly, in a more or less abrupt manner, with or without destruction.

However, within the word crisis, there are other meanings that make it even more suitable to express what we want to say. The phase that can truly be called critical, for any order of things, is the one that directly leads to a favorable or unfavorable solution, the one in which a decision is made one way or another; then it is possible to judge the conclusions drawn, to weigh the pros and cons, attempting a kind of classification of these conclusions into positive and negative, and thus see definitively which way the balance tips.

It seems that we are truly approaching the end of the world, that is, the end of an era or a historical cycle. We have already had many such precedents in the past and undoubtedly there will be others in the future, depending on whether they terminate periods that are less or more extensive and whether they concern either the entire human race or only one or the other parts of it, a race or a specific people.
