With this volume, which is published twenty-two years after his death, the life and work of Vasilis Mesologgitis (1906-1988) are presented through his personal archive. Originally from Chios, from a good family, he was a multifaceted intellectual and political figure. Initially a journalist, then an actor, Vasilis Mesologgitis served consistently for several years (1932-1966) in musical theater (revue and variety). At the same time, he developed intense trade union activity in the Association of Greek Actors (SEI), of which he was president for 15 years (1952-1967), a period marked by significant achievements for the industry. In addition to his artistic and political activities, he will also be present in literature as a poet, lyricist, prose writer, and playwright, with 15 poetry collections, 4 novels, 4 plays, and a large number of other texts published in newspapers and magazines. From his extensive literary creation, here is presented an anthology of his texts, and an initial critical assessment of his work is attempted with the publication of reviews written about him.

Unwavering, warm-hearted, communicative, with special social sensitivities, Vasilis Mesologgitis was loved and honored by his comrades and fellow citizens.
