Description

Complete holistic grain-free food with chicken & vegetables. Suitable for all adult dogs.

Ingredients Benefits

This food is a complete holistic diet that combines high nutritional protein from meat, vegetables, as well as superfoods and herbs such as chicory, milk thistle, pomegranate, cranberry, and blueberries, which help the immune system of dogs.

Chicken is a lean meat that provides your dog with the necessary protein their body needs. Additionally, it strengthens their muscular system and is a rich source of Omega 6 fatty acids, ensuring a healthy coat and shiny skin. Finally, the presence of amino acids and glucosamine builds healthy joints.

Peas are a rich source of vitamins A, K, and B, while being high in minerals such as zinc, iron, potassium, and magnesium. They also have a high content of proteins, dietary fibers, and lutein, an antioxidant that helps with the health of the skin, heart, and eyes.

Broccoli is an excellent source of calcium, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin K. These elements are essential for strengthening bones, nails, and teeth.

Proud owner of 2 female dogs, aged 6.5 - 3 years and 7.5 kilograms - 7 years, as well as a 4-year-old male mixed breed Labrador weighing 30 kilograms. Recently, I also adopted a stray dog weighing 13 kilograms, now approximately 16 kilograms, who was in a terrible condition. Now, within just one month, the little one is thriving. I can see the difference in their appearance and temperament. I have been feeding all my dogs Ambrosia throughout the years. They love their food. Their digestion is precise, with no stomach issues. They don't smell and they absolutely love it. They never eat anything else. They also drink bottled water. A fundamental requirement for judging a food is that it does not succumb to begging.

Until now I used to buy Nutram (11.6kg/60€), which I consider one of the best foods, both based on personal experience and international evaluations. Unfortunately, it has been out of stock for a long time (I believe they stopped importing it), so I was looking for an alternative Grain Free food. I bought Ambrosia today for the first time (not through Skroutz). I don't have an opinion on its quality, so I can't judge it for that. I hope it is good based on the reviews and what I have heard. However, I think it is very expensive. For my dog (about 24kg), with Nutram, he had to eat less than 200gr/day (the same with N&D that I had bought in the past). With Ambrosia, he needs to eat about 300gr/day. The 11.6kg of Nutram lasted around 60 days (200gr/day) while the 12kg of Ambrosia will probably last 40 days (300gr/day). Practically, Ambrosia will cost me 50% more in the long run compared to Nutram. It is good not only to compare prices in packages of equivalent kilograms, but also to read the nutritional tables. The difference is significant.

Update (11/10/22): Along with the change to Ambrosia Chicken & Veggies, the dog started to smell bad. Initially, we did not connect it to the food and we consulted the vet for a possible infection or something else. He consumed a total of two 12kg bags and the bad smell persisted. I decided to switch to Acana Adult (60%-40%). In 2-3 days, the bad smell disappeared. It is a much more expensive food to buy, but based on the financial analysis I have done above, it comes out to be about the same in the long run. I don't want to judge the quality of Ambrosia in general. Perhaps the vegetables in this specific formula are to blame, and possibly another formula would have been better. Despite this, I will not bother experimenting again.

It smells nice and my 2 dogs really like it. Until now, they were eating Ambrosia with salmon (which is also more expensive) so I was a little worried that they wouldn't like it, but they seem to like it even better.
