Description

Institutions and human figures shaped the apparent or invisible "epic" or "elegiac poem" of the organizational structure and development of the Greek Trade Union Movement and its adventures in the 1940s.
In this "epic," the "paradoxical" gap and trauma between a triumphant experience of labor struggles and a melancholic experience of pure grief have been recognized, through the arid landscape of state and party-dominated trade union organizations, as well as the lightness of their own selves.
The structural idiosyncrasy of the historical event, the dependency and interventions that flourished within the Greek Trade Union Movement, comes without pretenses and limitations, but also with a primitiveness from a long time ago, and I tried to identify its origin in the 1940s, as a natural continuation of the corresponding interventions of its early steps from the creation of GSEE in 1918.
In any case, any analogy with current or possible future practices of it is nothing but the result of chance.
