Description

The AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor is aimed at demanding users seeking high performance in applications and games. It is part of AMD's Ryzen 5000 series of processors, which is based on the Zen 3 architecture and offers several improvements over the previous generation of Ryzen 3000 processors.

The Ryzen 9 5950X features 16 cores and 32 threads, with a base frequency of 3.4 GHz that reaches up to 4.9 GHz in boost mode. It has 64 MB of cache memory and a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 105W. It is an excellent choice for users who need high performance in multi-threaded applications, such as video editing, demanding multi-threaded software, and content creation, while also offering excellent gaming performance.

The processor does not have an integrated graphics card. This means that to have video output, you will need to use an additional discrete graphics card (discrete GPU), which will connect to the system's motherboard via the appropriate slot, such as PCIe (PCI Express).

The latest technologies

When you have the "Zen 3" processor architecture for gamers and content creators, the possibilities are endless. Whether you're playing the latest games, designing the next skyscraper, or processing data, you need a powerful processor that can handle all that - and even more. Without a doubt, the AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series desktop processors set the bar for gamers and artists.

AMD StoreMI Technology

Software that combines the speed of an SSD with the capacity of an HDD. With Store MI, the two independent storage media create a unified drive that, through intelligent software management, provides incredible advantages resulting in cost savings.

Zen 3 Architecture

Making their debut in the 5000 series, the Zen 3 are based on and completely redesigned from the legendary Zen generation.

  • IPC, the Zen 3 can extract 19% more performance from each MHz frequency compared to the Zen 2 generation
  • Lower Latency, transition to a new unified core and cache complex that reduces communication delays

Ryzen Master

The processors are factory unlocked so you can customize yours to your needs. The Ryzen Master program helps with setting up the processor with all the options you need.

It features a basic menu, an advanced menu, and real-time monitoring of the processor's system.

AMD Ryzen™ VR Ready Premium

For users who demand a top-tier VR experience, AMD offers high-performance Ryzen™ VR Ready Premium processors. These selected models meet or exceed the current recommended specifications of leading VR-HMD manufacturers Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or Windows® Mixed Reality for processors, helping to ensure the best possible experiences in the virtual worlds you choose.

Win with the latest technologies

Play with confidence. The AMD Ryzen™ 5000 G-Series desktop processors deliver incredible performance with cutting-edge technologies like Precision Boost 2 and Precision Boost Overdrive. Cool under pressure, these processors continue the AMD Ryzen™ tradition of exceptional performance per watt of the 7nm architecture.

Boost your frames, boost your game

In supported games, you can take advantage of features like AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution. It helps increase frame rates for high-quality, high-resolution gaming experiences on PCs using almost any graphics card. The state-of-the-art upscaling algorithm converts low-resolution input into high-resolution frames with extremely high-quality edges and distinct pixel details.

Amazing processor. I had the 5600x and the difference is huge, even in games not so much in benchmarks but in the smoothness of the game. Combined with a b450 I had for 3 years and the upgrade was really worth it. I am waiting for the 8000 generation for a complete upgrade, which I will consider then. Completely satisfied, nonexistent temperatures with arctic 36, at full power, at 140 watts, pbo -15 all cores. It never exceeds 65 degrees even after hours of use.
Note: those who are only into gaming should go for the 7600 at this time and wait for the next generation. The 5800x3d that I had is much better for gaming

You open the power limit up to 200W, enjoying speed and low temperatures on the most efficient processor on the market. At the same time, you pat yourself on the back for the excellent purchase you made.

Awesome processor for multitasking. In single core, you won't understand its power because it's shy and doesn't show off! But in multi, you'll be running to catch up with it. I have it with DARK ROCK PRO 4 air cooling, in a case with amazing air flow, the bequiet PURE 500, and then the magic with CPU ratio to lock it at 4.2GHz and reduce vcore voltage, without losing performance (on the contrary, they even increased in multi-thread). Idle temperature is around 38-40 degrees Celsius and when I push it, it hasn't gone above 72 degrees Celsius. So, you disable PBO to keep your head cool and not fry eggs, and everything goes smoothly... at least for the usage I give it, as it's not used for gaming but only for design 3D renderings, etc.

I use it in the studio with heavy music programs. It is really amazing. So far, it has handled everything I have loaded on it effortlessly. Anyone considering it for music and low latency is a star. And I had bought it for twice the price it is now.

What can you say about 16 cores and 32 threads? It's not the latest model from AMD, but at this price, it's a great opportunity. For me, it doesn't make sense to chase after the latest models and pay a fortune for them, as new ones come out every few months...
The machine is built on an x570 chipset, with 64GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB. The temperatures are around 60 degrees, and the highest I've seen is 70 without water cooling. I won't mention games - they all play perfectly - video editing just flies, and under Linux, with the virtual machines I run, it's smooth as can be...
Load it up as much as you can... it won't disappoint you...

No matter what we say, it's not enough, you already know, no need to repeat it.
I have it on a GB Aorus Master X570S motherboard, which is a beautiful beast.
Cooling is done with an LC-Power LC-CC-360-LiCo (which I got for a good deal of 58€).
And the power supply is a Mars Gaming MPB850 (850Watt) Bronze 80.
The case is a Cougar MX660 (it drove me a bit crazy with the cooler - I should have gone for a slightly bigger case :-( ).

I mainly deal with photo editing. All programs now work at incredible speeds, imports and exports are lightning fast (combined with good hard drives), and temperatures are always very low. I don't deal with games at all. I plugged it into an Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero X570 and everything worked automatically, without updates.

You won't find anything better in terms of performance and consumption. Incredibly powerful and silent with noctua d15s. The automatic management of pbo makes it even better. I highly recommend it without hesitation.

Very good CPU for any use.
Recommended for users who primarily need speed (real-time applications, rendering)
    and multiple cores.

Requires very good cooling, and there is nothing negative to report.

Okay, there is nothing better for this price right now (900€).
The biggest challenge for this processor is... finding it available...
I have it paired with a Noctua NH-D15S in a machine for CPU rendering and development in UE4 and it works perfectly.

We are talking about a miracle from God.
Many will say Intel, but don't go for Intel.
The differences between i9 10900 and R9 5950x are significant.
The R9 5950x wins in the following:
    Difference of 6 cores (i9 10900: 10 cores) < (R9 5950x: 16 cores) significant difference
    Difference of 12 threads (i9 10900: 20 threads) < (R9 5950x: 32 threads) significant difference
    Difference in W (i9 10900: 125W) < (R9 5950x: 105W) small difference
    Difference in Cache Memory (i9 10900: 20MB) < (R9 5950x: 64MB) huge difference
    Difference in GHz (i9 10900: 5.3 GHz) > (R9 5950x: 4.9 GHz) small difference
The only thing i9 10900 wins in is GHz and not with a significant difference.
So Intel loses and Ryzen wins

    5/5 surpasses all intel I can't give a review yet because I haven't received the radeon 6900xt
edit: Just received the radeon 6900xt and I have no words. WORTH EVERY EURO. If you're going for the 6900xt, get a corsair tx850m power supply and you're covered. Also, if you want to buy it, I would prefer you to buy a computer case with good airflow
