I saw an increase in performance in all games by about 10-15% (with GTX 1070 and 1080p monitor)
It is value for money for anyone who wants to give a performance boost to an older system.
The best CPU at the moment where you can buy with little money! From 2600 to 5600x it's like being outside in the tremendous heat right now and entering a building with full Air Conditioning, a big difference in games especially those that require more CPU, you won't regret it! The stock cooler is FINE MAIN, if you want better temperatures go for Aftermarket!
As soon as I put it on an ASrockB450M Steel legend I made the jump from the 1600AF oc 4Ghz I bought it for 136 Euros all together with shipping. I will renew in a short period when I will have an experience with it and I will tell you my final opinion about the 5600X.
Good evening everyone, so I bought the processor for €130 and I can say that it is a beast literally. Fortnite runs at 240fps (but it can easily reach 360fps due to the monitor), LOL runs very smoothly at 1080p with very high settings capped at 360fps, and games like GTA V, Resident Evil 7, and others in the same category run at a steady 60fps on ultra settings. I think I don't need to say anything else.
The processor is excellent. In response to the review by "theodoxos 06/03/2024", all G models support PCIe 3.0 (e.g. AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G - https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-5-5600g), while the others (5600, 5600X) support PCIe 4.0 (https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-5-5600x). These are to avoid misunderstandings and misinformation.
It's an amazing processor, I was on the 2400g and I got this one now, no comparison, the computer runs games with 60/70 more fps, I have a gigabyte rtx 2070 super graphics card
Coming from a Ryzen 5 2600, of course the differences are huge. It works on an x470 MSI with 16GB RAM and I use a 1660 Super as the GPU. It was purchased as a base to drive a better GPU in the future, and where I thought the 1660 Super was already performing at its maximum with the 2600... I was wrong!!! I gained another 20 to 30 fps in games that I play at 1080p (Assetto Corsa, Dirt 5, Mafia, GTA V, Forza, Call of Duty).
I consider it the sweet spot for gaming on the AM4 platform as it is cheaper than the 5700x without any significant difference in performance. I also believe that the high clock speeds it locks in games, specifically 4650 MHz, provide more power to the GPU compared to the regular 5600. I don't use the stock cooler, but a be quiet dark rock slim, and temperatures with PBO set to the max with whatever the motherboard provides range from 30 to 35 degrees idle and during normal computer usage, and around 50 to 60 degrees in games, and about 10 to 15 degrees higher in the summer.
Excellent, war dog. I have him in an Sff pc inside the Fractal Ridge. Idle with the Noctua nh-12ls 40-45 C. Gaming in heavy 4X rts and simulation max 75 C and Cinebench never exceeded 85 C.
I had this CPU as my main for 2 years in my own build and it ran all programs without any issues. It struggles a bit with heavy video editing programs, but manages to get through in the end. It is also quite good for multitasking. As for gaming, it was and remains the ultimate choice from AMD. It can easily handle a build with a 3070 TI. I installed it in my son's PC, paired with a Gigabyte B550 and a 3070ti, exclusively for gaming with a 750W power supply. It performs excellently at 1080p.
In terms of temperatures, it has a low TDP, so it doesn't reach high temperatures - just make sure to buy an aftermarket quality cooler "without a doubt". I uploaded a photo regarding PBO because many people ask whether they should enable it from the BIOS or keep it disabled. I have done several measurements with PBO enabled - disabled - auto (default disabled). If your case has good airflow, always combined with a good AIO liquid cooler like an Arctic Freezer II or a good air cooler, the temperature difference is +14C with PBO enabled, reaching up to 75C, which is perfectly normal for AMD.
With PBO disabled or default (it's exactly the same), it reaches a maximum of 64C. The difference in games is 3 to 8 FPS with PBO enabled. Under no circumstances should you consider keeping the stock cooler, unless you only do office work. If you don't want to upgrade to another generation, choose this one without hesitation. If you have an extra 30€, go for the newer 5700X, mainly for better multitasking performance and a +5% improvement in gaming!
The processor, as many have already said, is excellent, offering great value for money. However, its cooler and fan are not as quiet or efficient. Yes, I would recommend a change, but it is not a waste. Overall, it is highly recommended!

Ignore the cooler and get another one right away... unless you want to use oil in the winter, then let it warm you up :P
I haven't used it much, but in some applications I opened, it didn't lag, as if it was getting a massage at 10-15% usage.
*You will definitely need a cooler as the stock one raises temperatures in demanding games
The best I have ever tried in terms of value for money processor, it performs amazingly, I haven't experienced any issues yet, it is very fast, it plays games flawlessly and easily at high fps accompanied by a 2080ti and 32gb ram. I highly recommend it, this processor is a beast!
I give it 4 stars because for some reason (although there is no compatibility issue) with the Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 motherboard & Corsair Vengeance 3600 RAM, only slots 3 & 4 are recognized... I changed the RAM, same issue... I replaced the motherboard (B550, brand new) and still the same...
I am stuck with 16GB RAM (2x8) and the store told me that the processor is fine but it's only causing a problem for me...
Generally, on Tom's Hardware and elsewhere, the majority of issues are with AMD... I don't know if I will buy Team Red again... I see myself going for Intel after 20 consecutive years with AMD...
CONFIRMATION: I bought another processor and it doesn't show any problems at all. I ended up with a faulty processor. The store (Ask Answers, it has been renamed) is simply ABSENT. They were working on the assumption that the issue was with the CPU. Good prices but TERRIBLE after-sales service. Imagine, as soon as I gave them the CPU, the first comment was "what did you do to it?" I have also written a letter to AMD and I will send it to them by mail through a special platform they have on their website.
For the price of what you expect. It does everything on a mid-spec PC, maybe even on high spec. It hasn't disappointed me in the 4-5 months I've had it. I would buy it again if I went back
Replace your 1600 with a powerful X370 motherboard. However, the fact that we are using first-generation AM4 processors in 2023 may be the reason why AM5 motherboards are priced sky-high compared to all other desktop parts that are sold at bargain prices (excluding GPUs).
It's simply amazing. It doesn't understand anything. It's one of the best value-for-money processors, running everything smoothly and even with the cooler it has in the box, it doesn't raise crazy temperatures. Buyers should get it without a second thought.
Real beast for CPU. Cold processor, temperatures don't rise (with the Hyper 212 RGB air cooler, you could even add liquid cooling) and I have it on the ASUS ROG Strix B550-F motherboard (stock CPU settings). The system runs great! I have nothing else to say, whoever buys it will enjoy it as its performance for the price is exceptional. Also, in my opinion, AMD has been doing an excellent job with processors in recent years and deserves more recognition than Intel.
The packaging had signs of a detached sticker. The Processor is the best and relatively at a good price. Three stars because it tells you that it has a fan, but you have to change it if you think that after 2-3 hours with a closed case it raises temperatures. Maybe they should have just put a good fan or not have one at all.
The first choice for a previous generation processor (AM4) for primary use in gaming and simple tasks. 6 cores more than enough for the latest - so far - games, plays them all fearlessly. Low power consumption and relatively cool even with air cooling. At the price it is now, blindly go for it for a medium level gaming PC. The new generation is currently quite expensive, so invest confidently in this one.
Four years ago, I bought an X370 Crosshair VI Hero at a very good price due to the last pieces available. It proved to be an even better purchase when support for the 5000 series was released. I updated the BIOS and it worked straight away without any problems!
I paired it with a 6900XT on a 4K monitor. It is the "smallest" acceptable processor that does not bottleneck such high-end cards at 4K resolution.
It was purchased one month after its launch for 360 in 2020. Coming from a Ryzen 5 1600, I saw a crazy difference! First of all, my memory went up to 3200mhz and it works flawlessly on the Asrock B550m pro 4 to this day. Besides that, I think for now that it has dropped to 160 euros, it's just what you need. I would only upgrade to a 5800x3d for extra gaming performance, otherwise I believe in a 7700x.
The work horse doesn't understand the word "difficulty" for the use I got him for, he's a powerhouse. The only thing is, don't use the stock cooler, it's better to get a ready-made liquid cooling system to be sure of the temperatures. Hope this helps :)
