In the volume "Pentasimon", poets Giorgos Barthalitis, Theodosis Volkof, Alexandros Kordas, Haris Psarras, and Dimitris Kosmopoulos each present nine poems. The cover artwork is a painting by Sotiris Sorogkas, while the book is adorned with drawings on stone by Dimitris Kosmopoulos. What unites the five poets is the search for a new path in poetic expression. In a landscape where television characteristics invade contemporary poetry, the five poets of the book, of different ages, with their distinct presence in poetic matters, agree through their journey - one at the beginning, another with a longer tenure - on a common goal: the fusion of modernist achievements with traditional rhythm and meter can rejuvenate poetic matters today. The so-called free verse audacity and the barren imitation of old retro stereotypes are the two poles within which our poetry moves today. In contrast to this, the five poets seek another path that perceives poetic tradition as a unified whole.
