First of all, it gets 3 stars not because it doesn't deserve 5 as a device, but because of its use and capabilities in Greece.
First of all, this is the second Alexa I have. The first one was 3rd generation and now I have a 4th generation. As an upgrade, it's not worth it much, but this has nothing to do with whether I would recommend it to someone or not. If someone doesn't have any, they should get the 4th generation.
I have set it up in German and English so that my wife can use it, as she doesn't know German. It doesn't have Greek, but whoever is not sure about their English and understands broken English well enough.
The major downside is the skills and compatibility in Greece. Many smart devices in the house need to be declared, just like Alexa, that they are located abroad in order to work together. For example, my TV (Samsung) had to be set up with a German address for Alexa to control it and adjust the TV for the apps that Alexa needs to open and close. It may seem like a minor skill, but it greatly helped my mother, who is against Alexa, when she visited me. However, the major issue is with the Hue bridge, which gets an address from the internet provider, meaning Greece, so Alexa cannot control it!!! Therefore, smart lights are smart but without voice commands. I'm afraid that many other devices will have the same issue, which is why I consider it a downside. (A solution would be a VPN, for information purposes.) But it's a shame that it has to be so complicated. Almost all skills don't work because they are not compatible in Greece.
The good thing is that I can talk to friends for free who also have Alexa, and I don't feel like calling them from my phone. The alarm clock and voice reminder are very useful. But again, I remind you that every command should be in English!!!
It is very easy for someone to set it up to work with Spotify or Amazon Music and listen to their favorite playlists. Personally, I usually listen to German radio when I do some work in the yard. But keep in mind that if the device is set up as being in England, for example, it cannot listen to German radio (let alone Greek). So, depending on the language and country, it will listen to those stations. I don't know if there is a workaround, but I encountered this issue at some point and didn't look into it because it doesn't bother me. If one day it becomes compatible in Greece, then it will definitely get 5 stars, but for now, it's 3 stars! Good, but half!
Oh, and be careful with visitors. One time, someone told Alexa to set an alarm for 3 in the morning with the song "Fire" by Scooter, and oh my goodness, that was the wake-up call!!!!!!
