Medicine itself, this form of medicine that we have chosen and developed as a culture, presents inherent flaws and abnormalities. Phenomena such as "iatrogenesis" and "placebo" that should fundamentally disrupt the foundation of medicine are ignored or distorted.

This medicine, medicine without any underlying philosophy to nourish it, is a medicine of illness and not of health. Its purpose and concern are to treat diseases after they have been established, rather than maintain the health of individuals and populations. Preemptive health measures, such as those pursued by "preventive medicine" and epidemiology, are simply a farce, as evidenced by the scientific pandemic of "new diseases".

This medicine, medicine that does not fully understand what life is, that cannot adequately define it and that only seeks to delimit and confine it, this medicine that does not fully understand what it means to be alive, mechanistic medicine, medicine of illness, is incapable of perceiving and defining what health is. Without a satisfactory definition of health, how can it be pursued?
