At this moment, the Greek people are experiencing the influx of irrational and unproductive passions. They are aimless, being dragged more by evil than by virtue. Their thinking is sluggish, having fallen into complete inertia. They are incapable of defending themselves against those undermining their present and future. Their nationality, their history - glorious pages of it - are mocked and despised. They are taught hatred and contempt towards the noblest ideals of the past. Religion, language, family, ethics, property, national consciousness, and homeland are repeatedly denounced as rotten ideals, backward, having no reason to exist.
