Description

Music does not need notes. It comes directly from the heart, intertwining with the hearts of all people and at the same time with the universal eternity that is full of mystery and offers to us. The ancient Greeks felt this so deeply, especially when they looked at the stars in the night sky and heard the pure harmony of the spheres resonating within them. The ancient Greeks, as is already known, later discovered their own music notation, which is the root of our present-day notation.

Our music notation helps us to capture compositions of more complex forms and structures, and it is the language with which we reproduce something that has been written down. However, it never ceases to be a technical tool, beyond its authentic, main, and fundamental essence of the existence of music. Therefore, for a child to learn notes is almost always a problem. Here, in this book, the effort to make children trust notes and the world of music is achieved with great success. This is done through specialized games that come from the world of fairy tales and their illustrations. The figures and colors are carefully and cleverly selected, resulting in a direct and catalytic impact on the spirit and unique aesthetics of children. Thus, music notation and theory emerge from their gray existence and are transferred to the vibrant and imaginative world of children.

I congratulate the author and excellent pianist, whom I had the honor to meet as a student at the Music Academy of Karlsruhe, for the writing of this pioneering, rich in ideas, and extremely interesting book.

(from the foreword by Ulrich Michels, Doctor of Musicology and Professor at the Higher Music Academy of Karlsruhe)
