The two-volume edition Greek Literature of Theatrical Works, Dialogues and Monologues 1900-1940 by Chrysothemis Stamtopoulou-Vasilakou, edited by the theaterologist Petros Vrachiotis, is a monumental work, an indispensable aid and a fundamental research tool for future Greek Theater. It gathers 5,344 references, many of which concern largely unknown theatrical works and highlights the era of the "Theater of Ideas" (1895-1922), that is, Greek modernism, as well as the period between the World Wars as one of the most fruitful periods of 20th-century drama. With this edition of the bibliography of theatrical works 1900-1940, the series of the Theatrical Library of the Kostas & Eleni Ourani Foundation was not limited to the philological edition of old theatrical works of the 18th and 19th centuries, unpublished and published, which are considered valuable and significant because either they had great success in their time, or they attract attention due to their dramatic uniqueness, or for their subject matter, or they stand out as mirrors of the society and culture of their time, but it proceeded to publish a bibliography of theatrical works of the first half of the 20th century, not only those that have been published, but also typewritten or even works in manuscript form.
