On September 1, 1987, with a spectacular armed action known as Operation "Prince," the "Ignacio Valenzuela" units of the Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front (FPMR) kidnapped the general director of the Chilean Army Weapons Factory (FAMAE), Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Carreño, in an operation also called "No to the perpetuation of the tyrant."

The book belongs to that curious genre usually called "non-fiction prose" and combines journalistic investigation with a novelistic writing style.
Reading it, we not only follow a story among many in Pinochet's Chile, but we "live" with the protagonists the atmosphere, anxieties, and actions that marked an entire era of resistance to that (then newly emerging) hybrid of neoliberalism and fascist dictatorship.
