... As soon as I started reading the texts of this latest book by Petros Papasarantopoulos, I suddenly felt like I had entered my grandmother's living room: my grandfather had participated in the wars of the 1912-22 decade and his spoils were copper vases that had been transformed into flower vases on flower columns. I was impressed by their sight and at the same time reassured: the war had ended, my grandfather was here to tell us stories, the deadly weapons were hosting flowers; he was a precursor of what we saw happening many times later, protesters putting flowers on the soldiers' weapons in anti-war marches for Vietnam or during the "carnation revolution" in Portugal... ... And beyond opinions, arguments, theories, what matters is the attitude towards life, the honesty and dignity of the person that the articles highlight; just as they highlight the active, consistent, thoughtful citizen, with the very deep meaning of these four words. For this reason, the old "vases" deserve to become flower vases on flower columns...
