Overall very satisfied with very good range easily 25 meters and what is single at 16 amps I work normally on a water heater also the quadruples that also have rf work perfectly and price very good also very easy installation inside the panel with the fuses is a bit bulky the quadruple but otherwise very satisfied also very easy setup with wi-fi and with the rf remote control
Good device, works as it should. Easy installation on the panel rail with its extra base. Good handling from the application. Simple and functional with timer function, programming, etc.
Pay attention to the wiring and installation. For remote control use of the water heater, I recommend using a power relay for greater safety in the electrical installation. Although the device has a nominal current of 25A and covers the use of water heater control, I did not trust it and used a relay. It is still a simple Chinese construction that needs to supply enough kW to the water heater, which is one of the largest household consumptions. Because I have seen various videos, etc. using the device on a water heater by essentially cutting off the power circuit, I am providing a rough wiring diagram of the device using a power relay, which I consider safer. Be careful if you are not familiar, ask for help.
It looks good for its price.
I bought an extra 25A power relay and installed it!
I have programmed it for a week now and everything is fine!
Now we will see how it goes in the future...
However, be careful, you need to connect the phase and neutral inputs to the corresponding L and N. If you connect them incorrectly, as mentioned by someone else in the comments, both output contacts will have voltage when turned off.
I installed this switch to control my water heater. The installation was done in parallel with a manual circuit breaker so that I can operate it as I want. In the installation, a 4A fuse was installed to protect the switch, a power relay that receives commands from the Sonoff, and a 20A automatic circuit breaker to protect before the relay. It works perfectly and flawlessly so far, and there has been no WiFi interruption. It can be controlled with the ewelink program through scheduled operation, timer, and of course, immediate on or off.
Edit: After 5 months of continuous use, it continues to respond correctly without any WiFi interruption!
I will agree with all the good reviews that other users have written.
Value for money!
It connects immediately, works without problems, and works perfectly with Google Home.
However, I will not give it 5 stars, but only 3, because of an electric shock I experienced because of it.
The problem?
While the switch is in the Off position, and both output contacts (both L and N) are at 220 volts - when the switch is activated, it only provides 0 volts to N in order to create the voltage difference of 220 volts.
Which twisted mind thought of this operating method?
And while this should be mentioned in bold in its accompanying documentation for safety reasons, it is not mentioned at all!
Very good little thing, easy to connect, I installed it on the water heater, it works perfectly, it has the ability to shut off on its own after the time you set. I have set it to shut off in 25 minutes twice a day, before I go to work, so that I have hot water, and after work, so that I can take a shower without worrying if there is hot water. Guys, it's worth the money, at 6€, come on, it's the best
Everything is exactly as I expected. It connected easily to the (2.4Ghz) wifi. After downloading their app, I named it, set it up, and connected it to Google Home within a few minutes.
BUT, the most important feature for me has a big problem. I am referring to the automatic switch-off after a few minutes. I got extremely confused because there are 2 ways to activate the automatic switch-off through the app.
And with both ways, even though I had set the device to switch off after 20 minutes of operation, I had different incorrect results. One time it turned off after 5 minutes, another time after 10, another time after 7, and occasionally, after the actual 20 minutes that I wanted.
I contacted the creators of the app, and they told me to restart the device. Obviously, this did not fix the problem and unfortunately, I have to keep in mind to ensure that the device operates within the desired time frame.
Apart from this issue, I am very satisfied with how the device functions
I installed a SONOFF BASIC R2 inside the household electrical distribution panel along with a double remote power relay (Hager ESC225 25A) to implement a timer for the water heater, in order to take advantage of the nighttime electricity rates. Currently, the system works perfectly. The water heater automatically turns on every morning at 6:20 and turns off at 6:50.
1st SOLUTION FOR INSTALLING THE SONOFF IN A PANEL
Because the SONOFF BASIC R2 cannot be directly mounted on the panel rail, there is a suitable accessory (Sonoff DR DIN Rail Tray, with code SNF-DR) that serves as a base for easy installation of the Sonoff switches on the distribution panel rail. This allows you to mount the SONOFF inside the panel. However, it will not protrude much like the miniature circuit breakers of the panel, making it easy to access the SONOFF button to manually activate the water heater. If you want easy direct access to the button, you will need to find a way to mount it (for example, I screwed the SONOFF on the front of the panel but from the inside, so it is at the same level as the other circuit breakers, see attached photo). On my mobile phone, I installed the recommended eWelink application to manage the Sonoff.
2nd SOLUTION FOR INSTALLING THE SONOFF IN A PANEL USING THE SPECIAL BASE
The Sonoff switch was placed on a rail using the special base "Sonoff DR - DIN Rail Tray" available in the market. Other Sonoff products (such as Sonoff Basic, Sonoff RF, Sonoff Pow, Sonoff TH10/16, Sonoff Dual, Sonoff G1) can also be screwed onto this base, allowing them to be installed on a DIN rail in the household electrical distribution panel. The system works perfectly with the eWelink application on the mobile phone.
However, what the base does not do is bring the Sonoff "face" (see same level) with the other switches on the panel. So the Sonoff remains "embedded" inside the panel, which is not very safe when you want to manually activate it by putting your hand inside.
If someone wants to bring the Sonoff "face" (see same level) with the other switches, I describe a simple and functional solution that you can find on Skroutz in my review for the "Sonoff DR DIN Rail Tray" (look for the review for the product "Sonoff DR - DIN Rail Tray"). See attached photo.
The classic Sonoff works just fine....
This is a somewhat new version and during the pairing process in the app, it wouldn't connect to the 5GHz router of Cosmote no matter what, while when I turned off the 5GHz and left only the 2GHz, it eventually connected at some point....
It connected immediately to another 2.5GHz router
It works perfectly, for some reason it pairs with the mobile app the second time, it doesn't find it the first time, the same thing happened with two different routers, a minor inconvenience since it only happens the first time you connect it, even if there is a power outage when it comes back on, it is ready to use.
I have bought 2, one I have used as a power strip and the other I have installed for the water heater, I haven't encountered any issues, they work perfectly
There is no better patent than this one, really!
We have been using them for years, never had any issues.
And it works perfectly with the iPhone application.
Very simple but requires the cable to be cut or inserted somehow in order to work as a switch. It definitely needs a neutral wire, so it is not suitable for places like old lights that only have interruption in the phase.
It worked perfectly with the standalone switch Sonoff RF-T2EU1C in the adjacent room. It also works with Google Home as long as you add it to the Sonoff application (eWeLink) and import it into the Google Home application.
To connect with the eWeLink app on iPhone, the compatible pairing mode was required, for which you can find instructions on the official site/manual and in a video on YouTube. It is used to control a power relay for a water heater. It works flawlessly. You can program when it will turn on, when it will turn off, what it will do when the power comes back after an outage (on/off or as it was before the power went out), as well as how long it will stay on before turning off (inching), regardless of how it was turned on. All through the app.
Very easy and practical. It pairs the first time it gets power. Then I set up a recurring automation and that was it, I find the bathroom warm every day when I come back from work. Perfect.
Ok, they say. I put two in a ceiling fan that also has a light, and I made it smart with 12€! I would have liked them a little smaller though in the fan cover on the ceiling, they fit.
They have basic options, on-off, timer, operation after power outage, automatic activation-deactivation (I think up to 5 times a day).. overall a good choice, and a third one that I put in the lights on the balcony, it's great.
Easy installation, easy connection with the sonoff app.
Of course, it requires the sonoff app, an account, and if you want commands, of course Google -apple-amazon.
It does not connect directly without the app, of course.
Quality product, worth its money
Amazing. Connected in 1 minute. Works on the balcony inside the metal light fixture. It doesn't fit in the switch box. Its response is immediate whether you are at home, therefore on the same network, or when you are away with data.
Excellent price for a decent product. It does exactly what it promises with easy setup. I have several switches from this company and they are all effective. Highly recommended.
Excellent product and very economical for what it offers!
I used it to make my home water heater smart, installation definitely needs to be done by a professional! As for the device pairing, that's where I struggled a bit, I had to contact my telecommunications company and have them set up my WiFi to 2.4 GHz so that I could complete the pairing.
It does not connect to any damn thing. It doesn't matter if you change anything in the 2.4ghz network.... The damn thing doesn't work. It doesn't show up anywhere! Terrible product, at least for me, maybe it's defective, I don't know, but I bought 2, and I tried both, followed the instructions, and watched some videos on the internet with various tips and nothing.
I didn't believe it, but it is very good, it connects immediately, it works instantly as soon as you give it a command, and the most important thing for me is that with its application you can set a timer to turn it on whenever you want
