Despite being wooden, it is lightweight, so we don't worry about it falling on our feet, etc. It is one of the toys that are constantly in our living room, almost every day the little one will spend time cooking something. Especially since we passed the stage of putting everything in our mouths, we were able to combine it with real beans, acorns, streamers, etc. to make it feel better that he is cooking. I highly recommend it, especially for younger children who don't want a wide variety of utensils (we have had it since 15 months, the packaging says 18+).
