Description

Athens 2016. Rosalia, an eighty-year-old woman, lives alone in an old house in Athens. One morning she discovers a tattered diary on the back of her bookshelf. From its quaint character, she realizes it is hers, but she cannot remember its existence. As she flips through it, she is unpleasantly surprised. The torn pages, the stains, and the violently cut photographs do not suit her kind character. On one page, she encounters a painting that piques her interest more than the curious way it is cut. She struggles to find an answer, but at the same time, she feels that this forgetfulness protects her from something dark and threatening.
At night, as she goes to sleep holding the diary, a piece of paper will slip out, but she will not see it. It is the missing piece from the painting that had troubled her so much.
The rusty gear of memory will start turning again and bring to light shocking events, disruptive truths, love, betrayal, games of fate and mind that shook her life.
A torn diary, an old painting, and the ticking of a clock will unite and reveal the last pieces of her story, and in their own way, they will unveil what was left unspoken.

A wonderful book. Its story "sucked me in" and made me one with it. I loved it. I identified with Emilia and Rosalia. On every page, I felt like I was living inside it too.
