1854: An outbreak of cholera breaks out in Athens and Piraeus, causing panic and death among the unfortunate residents of the capital. This short narrative, based on real events, is one of the most impressive examples of the writing of Emmanuel Lykoudis (1849-1925). It dramatically describes the situation in Athens during the epidemic, which historians believe was transmitted by foreign troops.
