Because there has been a lot of fuss about the battery, a small piece of advice before the evaluation.
1) Charge the battery with a regular charger and not with a fast charger if possible and if you are not in a hurry. Because the battery lasts longer over time. And it doesn't heat up.
2) Limit as many unnecessary applications as possible from running in the background.
3) With the following settings:
a) Medium power saving mode,
b) 1080 resolution,
c) 60 Hz screen.
With all that I mentioned + permanent Bluetooth connection with the Galaxy Watch, I get 7 to 7.30 hours of screen time in a row with brightness below average. If the brightness is very high, I can get 6.30 hours.
On a relaxed day with normal usage without power saving and the screen at 120 Hz, I comfortably end the day with 20-30% battery.
Now let's get to the general evaluation.
+ The phone doesn't lag at all and it wouldn't be possible for it to lag.
+ It has a touch response of 240 Hz. By far the fastest touch response available today.
+ Lightning-fast fingerprint scanner, one of the fastest I've seen. (It has improved significantly compared to when the phone was first released). Also, because it is ultrasonic and not optical, it works normally even with wet hands, unlike all the others on the market. It even unlocks underwater.
+ Waterproof with IP68 certification.
+ Face unlock is quite fast during the day (it unlocks before you even place your finger on the fingerprint scanner), but not as good at night. At night, fingerprint unlock is preferred.
+ Top 120 Hz screen at 1080 resolution, 60 Hz at 2K. Supports HDR10+ in videos and has insane brightness, so even with 40 degrees Celsius outside in the summer sun, you can still see the screen clearly.

If it is charged while closed, the times are reduced by 10-20% depending on the room temperature. When closed and super fast charging, it charges from 0 to 100 in 55 minutes at a temperature of 26°C. The warmer it gets, the slower the charging speed to cool down and not damage the battery. So, the room temperature plays a role in this.

The camera's AI (scene optimizer) is very good and does the job.
+ Now, onto videos. Top-notch 4K60 video with incredible stabilization for the resolution and frames. It does a great job with sound as well, as wherever you zoom in the image, it somehow zooms in and focuses on the sound you have zoomed in on. In 1080p, there is the option of video with steadyshot. There is the option to switch cameras while recording the video. Meaning, you start with the main camera and as you shoot, you switch to the ultra-wide-angle camera. However, this cannot be done in all resolutions.

Now, regarding the Exynos 990.

For social use, camera, video, movies, and basically anything else except gaming, the phone is worth it.

I have the phone in my possession for 2 weeks.
The battery barely lasts the whole day.
My usage is at 120hz screen, lots of calls, emails, data and Bluetooth on, and internet browsing.
The screen is very good, the camera improved with the update regarding the focus issue.
My previous phone was the s7 edge and this is definitely an upgrade for me, but the battery is lacking for a phone with such a price.
I hope they fix it with an update.
The battery is the big problem. I have had the phone for years. Now I changed it at the dealership. It works perfectly. Conclusion: In 2 years, definitely a replacement (around 50€). Everything else is fantastic. Very fast and a very good camera
Bought it for 500€ a few months ago, and even now the phone is worth it. It doesn't lag and the battery lasts a whole day of heavy use. Two features that I like about the S series are the ip68 rating (I don't worry about water and dust) and the reverse charging. Especially with the latter, I can charge my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 with my phone when I'm somewhere without the watch charger.
I would like to share some thoughts about this mobile phone. The SAR for the head is 0.38 W/kg and for the body is 1.57 W/kg. As for the battery, I recommend charging it simply and not excessively fast, in order to maintain its lifespan. Limit the background running applications and use the recommended power-saving settings.
Regarding performance, the mobile is fast and efficient, while the camera provides excellent photo and video quality. The ability to record in 8K resolution and video stabilization is impressive. Additionally, the battery offers satisfactory lifespan, especially for everyday use.
The charging options are diverse and can be adjusted according to your needs. Moreover, the mobile has NFC and supports the use of two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card. Overall, the mobile offers a satisfactory experience for everyday use, except for gaming, where the performance is limited
Awesome phone! Quite affordable for a Samsung flagship even today! Initially, I change phones quite often: android-iOS without being a 'fun boy', due to work. I have had the following: g4, s6, s7, s8- 6s, 11, 12. I kept this one for about 1.5 years until I got the iPhone 12 due to better battery life only!
Let's go to the positives of the phone:
1) Amazing large screen! Without a notch and with large bezels! Great blacks, impeccable quality in games and videos, etc. No comparison to the 12.
2) I was impressed by its fantastic camera (especially during the day). It has many settings, but I have it on auto and have no issues! (In terms of video, it lags behind the 12)
3) In terms of speed and lags, it never froze on me and worked like new!
4) Tremendous speakers!!! It sounds like a small Bluetooth speaker!! Huge difference compared to the 12.
5) 120hz screen, no comparison to 60hz (although it drains the battery faster, 8k video, which I had for the first time on a mobile phone (although I didn't use it much).
6) It has received Android 13 and receives monthly security updates.
7) Excellent microphone quality in calls, etc.
8) Good resale value.
9) It easily competes with 2022 devices.
Negatives:
1) Battery!! (Although it has 120hz and great screen quality), it's difficult for it to last a day, of course, it goes down to 85% in less than an hour of use.
2) In games (PUBG, COD, Garena), etc., although it doesn't lag, the 990 it has heats up more...
3) It's not 5G.

Really almost 2 years now and it's like new, fast, camera elsewhere, top screen resolution that can compete with the s22 which is the newest on the market!
Coming from S8 and having it for already 2 years, I have to say that it's not worth going through the process of even considering changing it, as I am 98% satisfied and I never seek for 100% because there will always be something else... the phone is still fast in everything. The only negatives that I don't really take into consideration are the selfie camera and the battery that lasts a day with full usage. However, these are really negligible factors for me since it charges to 100% in 45 minutes. I love this phone and the only reason not to love it is if you come from another company that you are used to a different usage. Personally, I will keep getting Samsung until the sun sets.
I have been the owner of this mobile phone for 2 years. I am completely satisfied. Its camera is excellent, as well as the screen resolution. It is fast and the battery lasts for 1 day with moderate use. Personally, I believe it is worth its money!

I will start with the negatives and the first one is not the battery, it is the front camera at night in any resolution and under any lighting conditions, it is simply terrible...
The battery is the second negative of the phone, it doesn't last a day naturally in any case, whether you have it at 2k or 120 refresh rate.
The positive thing is that it charges very quickly with its charger, so I don't have a headache with that, but I constantly need access to a charger, which can be an issue if you work outside.
The third negative is the temperature of the phone, which even at -5, if you record a video or simply watch a video, it rises quite a bit.
Shall we talk about the positives?
It is a phone that costs almost €1000.
The screen, sound, speed, call quality, video and photo quality from the main camera are simply outstanding. After 1 year, the phone is still in a new condition without much care.
It is expensive, I bought it without VAT for €680, so I think it's okay at this price...
One last thing regarding the fingerprint on the screen, they say it works flawlessly from the beginning and now compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro, which I have to wake up and unlock the screen, it is faster.
Owner of the S20 plus here for 7 months now and I decided to share my opinion since I now consider myself completely objective.
First of all, I should mention that my previous device was the OnePlus 6t and I have owned all the Galaxy S models except for the S4, S5, S7, and S10.
So, I decided to return to Samsung since I didn't want to wait for the OnePlus 8 Pro to come from China. I will first talk about the POSITIVES of the device.
-The device is quite lightweight for its size without making you feel like it's cheap. On the contrary, you feel like you're holding a premium device.
-The screen is excellent, with beautiful colors and great brightness. As for the 120Hz, anyone who has a mobile device with 120Hz or higher knows how amazing it is.
-Regarding the sound, the S20 has stereo speakers tuned by AKG and supports Dolby Atmos. I can say that it pleasantly surprised me as I didn't expect such good and high-quality sound.
-Something that many overlook but I consider very important is the haptics of the device. Until now, I haven't come across an Android device that matches Apple's Taptic Engine, but I can say that compared to the awful vibration motor of the OnePlus 6t, the one on the S20 is much better and overall very strong.
-As for the cameras, Samsung has done a great job with AI, and in Auto mode, one can take amazing photos with the S20. Overall, in every scenario, day or night, the cameras of the S20 have never disappointed me, and I consider them to be on the same level of quality as the iPhone 11 Pro.
-I consider the UI to be a completely personal matter, but overall, Samsung has done a great job and has incredibly many applications and services that make life easier.
Now let's move on to the NEGATIVES.
-I will start by saying that in order to have 120Hz, the screen resolution needs to be FHD+ and not 2K, which in everyday life is not that important, but you do lose a bit in resolution.
-The phone heats up quite a bit. Especially if you use it in the summer (not necessarily under the sun) and simply send messages or watch videos, you feel like it has heated up without any particular reason.
-All of this is also due to the Exynos 990, which was not the best processor Samsung has released. It has generally received a lot of criticism, maybe even more than it deserved. Personally, I haven't experienced any issues with its performance (except for occasional overheating). I don't play heavy games, so I can't have an opinion on its graphics.
-In general, it is not the fastest phone on the planet. This may be due to the gestures and the graphics of Samsung's UI. It will definitely not feel slow or laggy, but personally, I would have liked it to be a bit more responsive.
-And now for the worst part. The battery. With moderate use and only on a Wi-Fi network, the phone barely gives you 5-5.5 hours of screen-on time. Now, if you're not on Wi-Fi but outside, with 4G, under the sun, and in heat, things become very difficult. The phone doesn't even last a day from 11 in the morning until 11 at night.
-Finally, in continuation of the battery life, there is also the slow charging. Inside the box, there is a 25W charger, which simply is not enough. A full charge from 0-100% takes 1 hour and 20 minutes. At a time when there are many cheaper phones on the market that charge in 40 minutes with 35 and 65w. Additionally, if you use the device while it is charging, it will take even longer to charge.
In conclusion, I believe that the S20 Plus would be a very competitive choice at a price of 500 euros. It has many positive and good features, but also quite a few serious problems in my opinion. Also, currently in the market there are newer and better phones overall, at a price lower than the S20 Plus.
Within two days, I made an exchange with OnePlus 8 pro and I saved... an excessively superior device in every aspect and much better photo and video quality at night.... as for the Samsung with the MediaTek processor, it overheats no matter what you do, even if you just open Facebook it burns... the camera is not anything special... and now let's move on to the best part, it has a huge issue with screen dimming. As soon as the phone is exposed to sunlight and a little heat, the brightness drops to 50-40% as soon as you use it and you can't change it until it freezes... I wanted to take a video and in the first half a minute, it lowered the brightness as if it was a sunny day and I couldn't see in front of me to take the video... and the second worst problem is that it claims to support quick charge and charges the phone with 1,500mA. They're fooling us, I had a Xiaomi and even the OnePlus 8 pro reaches 5,500mA to fully charge, it took an hour and a half if the screen was on and you were using it, it charges 30% in an hour... stay away, I wonder how people buy these phones, they deceive you. After six years, I decided to try Samsung and I returned it within two days, the Poco F3 is much better in all aspects. It only lags behind in the camera, but it also costs 280 euros... I generally deal with mobile phones and my worst experience was with the S20 Plus. Oh, and one last thing, the battery drains like water and you don't have the full resolution for the 120Hz

Fast phone for everyday use. I don't play games to have an opinion on overheating, which some complain about.
The camera is very good during the day. At night, it's just good.
The speakers are good, no complaints even though I don't have crazy demands.
Cons: The fingerprint sensor is slower than death and gets smudged seven out of ten times.
The battery is mediocre. Coming from a Huawei P30 Pro, it was a disappointment.

After 3 months of ownership, the only negative thing I have to say is that it gets a little warm, especially when I use it during the winter, so I think this phenomenon will be more intense in the upcoming summer. Actually, the only negative thing I have to say is the battery, which despite having a large capacity, doesn't last more than a day. However, that's not the issue, as most phones only last a day. The problem is the battery drain during sleep, in simple words, whether the phone is off or in use, it will consume a significant amount of battery. This is especially noticeable if you leave it unplugged overnight, where it will lose 20% doing nothing. Unacceptable. Nevertheless, the price and features that are now missing from the s21 (sd card, mst, 1440p, charger, 4th camera, and headphones) make the s20 a great opportunity for those who rely on these and want the very user-friendly and fast UI3.
Predecessor to the s3, s7, and Note8, I definitely believe that this is the best that Samsung has released, incredible video quality, screen, and sound!
The best part of this particular model is the combination of Samsung's favorite Ui with the 120Hz, which make the user experience unique! Additionally, the designers have managed to utilize such a large 6.7'' screen by combining small dimensions with low weight, something you don't find in devices with a similar screen size of 6.7''. Bravo to them!
Beyond that, the drawbacks...
- It heats up during demanding tasks.
- The fingerprint sensor is mediocre.
- The back design is average, unremarkable, and colorless.
- Using the 120Hz forces you to switch to FHD+ resolution instead of 2K+.
- Comparing the videos to previous series, they didn't impress me as much as the screen, which is very good, just like in previous models of the S series.
If I didn't like the company and its Ui as a fan, I would give it 3 stars, which is the right thing to do in my opinion.
I have had the phone for about 7 months and it is amazing, very fast and the screen is the best I believe it is worth its money
Owner of the S20+ mobile since September 2020. This particular mobile was purchased for 670 initially, and sometimes we all know that it is one of the expensive mobiles on the market.
I can say that I am very satisfied (former owner of Samsung J5 2015, Samsung S7).
First, I will mention the build quality, which is a sturdy device, regardless of being slightly heavier than the other mobiles on the market at that time that I was looking for. The screen is one of its huge positives, with very beautiful colors, and not "burned" but impressive. Its 4K resolution is incredibly amazing, especially in movies (you can take advantage of it because it has a large screen), 120 Hz refresh rate at 2K (one negative thing I could find, there is no 120 Hz at 4K) as it makes the mobile smooth in videos, movies, social media, and everything in general, without straining the eye. However, this naturally has an impact on the battery. The battery could possibly be a little larger, as at 120 Hz it drains 20% faster and will last about 10-12 hours of usage depending on how someone uses it (I mainly use it for work, social media, movies, photos).
I hope I helped someone who is looking for reviews to buy it. For someone who has S10, it may not be worth upgrading to S20, but for someone like me coming from S7, the difference is obvious.
Update 27/8/2022
For some reason, after 1.5 years, the 64mp camera was not focusing, and it seemed that something was not right. I tried everything, formatting, clearing cache, etc., but nothing worked. Samsung informed me that the camera may need to be replaced, and luckily I was still under warranty for 4 days. Replacement was done within 3 days. Very positive for me to have such after-sales support.
For me, only the battery is a disadvantage, and the terrible fingerprint sensor. I have also done the latest update, but nothing significant has changed. The A70 with the same battery lasted longer. I can't find anything negative in the rest. Of course, it depends on each person's usage. But for this price, you are asking for perfection, which of course it is not.
It's time for me to fill in the evaluation.
At 650, I believe it's not easy to find an S series from Samsung with these features.
The screen is by far the device's biggest asset. Although it's a shame not to have the phone in max resolution, at 1080p with 120Hz, the experience is unparalleled, you simply forget about 60Hz... Brightness will never be a problem no matter where you are.
As for the camera, I think they went overboard with the advertising, as it is indeed fine, no issues with focusing and the image quality is excellent, but why only 12MP for the main camera? (look up why I mention 12MP for the main) If they had a 32MP main and 32MP telephoto, then the shortcomings would be 100% better. After a certain point, zooming distorts the image anyway. They probably just wanted you to hear 64MP as a title because it's not exactly the reality. For the selfie, if it's extremely important, go for the s20 FE as it is much better.
The speaker is amazing, I didn't believe a mobile device could sound so good.
Now, about the processor, it's stupid that we get a lower model, but with continuous updates, at least the overheating issues have almost been eliminated.
The only real issue is the battery, not only in the s20+ with its 4500mAh, but generally in the s20 series. After 3 and a half months of use, the average SOT is 7 hours, meaning with moderate to heavy use, it lasts a whole day with one charge. Don't expect more than a day with a 120Hz display.
The connections work perfectly with Samsung buds, Sony headphones, Samsung watch 3, soundbar, LG TV, and the powershare with the buds and watch is very useful.
If you want a Samsung phone that is high-end at a reasonable price, the s20+ will be the best choice, even better than the s20 due to the larger battery and screen.

I had the s9+ before, I wouldn't change it but the screen broke from a fall... it doesn't have a crazy difference, I can say... the battery lasts almost a day... it's fast. It doesn't freeze... 8GB of RAM is more than enough... the screen is very good, it's convenient to hold... at first, it used to get very hot with simple applications, like on YouTube when zooming in on the camera and in games. I thought it wouldn't withstand such high temperatures... but it was resolved with the updates fortunately... because it's not a small amount of money to fix it... it's not worth changing phones every 2-3 years at such prices. We've gotten used to them and they rip us off. They're going too far!
Amazing camera for photos, but lacks in video. Battery is mediocre at best, rarely lasts a whole day with the screen at 120 hz. Sound quality and intensity are very good. It has some bugs in specific applications, which are constantly being reduced with updates.
I have had the mobile phone in my hands for 9 days and I have to say that it is flawless, although with some negatives. Overall, for the use I make of it, I have no complaints about anything except that I would prefer the battery life to be slightly longer in this price category.
And after I found the S9, I decided to upgrade to the S20 plus.
It's not worth 700.00 at all, but neither is it worth 1040.00 euros. Sorry Samsung, but that's too many euros for it to annoy me every time with the fingerprint. Otherwise, it's indifferent and the 64 mp and zoom are not that great. A thousand times the S9. WHAT A SHAME

- THE LOVE TO HATE EXYNOS 990 -
Unpopular opinion: The Exynos 990 is a good processor. No, I'm not crazy, and I'm not saying this because of Samsung. For those who don't know, the damage to the chip is caused by the GPU. The Mali GPU that provides graphics to the Exynos is clearly inferior to the Adreno of the Snapdragon, resulting in lower FPS and higher temperatures in games. This will be proven in the collaboration between Samsung and AMD, where suddenly the Exynos will rise as a chip.
You might ask, why should I care? Am I getting worse results than the S20 with the Snapdragon? In everyday use, the difference is negligible. In games, definitely, so if gaming matters to you, go for the S20 FE 5G with Snapdragon/Adreno. In all other aspects, the S20+ is better than the S20 FE 5G, even with the Exynos 990.
- WILL I BOIL AN EGG ON THE S20+? -
No, I don't intend to drive crazy those who wrote about overheating issues. They existed. Past tense. After two consecutive updates in October, the phone is clearly cooler than ever. Extended use, multitasking, games, 8K videos. In some cases, you might feel it getting warmer, but within reasonable limits, just like with other phones. The excessive overheating issues are a thing of the past. You can search and check on technology sites to confirm what I'm saying.
- BATTERY FROM LIDL? -
To be honest and sincere with you, the Snapdragon variant offers about 10-15% more battery life, which translates to about 40 minutes of additional Screen On Time (SOT).
The battery is neither terrible nor flagship-level. In the photo I have attached, you can see the average times I get. More than 7 hours of SOT with 120Hz permanently set! The only intervention I made was to restrict some background apps. With 60Hz, the SOT would definitely increase, but it doesn't bother me. So, it's definitely not a battery to throw away.
- ANY COMPLAINTS? -
One complaint is that I would have liked the battery to be even better, considering that the competition (e.g., iPhone 11 Pro Max, Huawei P40 Pro) manages to last for two days without charging.
The other complaint is that Samsung should have found a way to offer 120Hz at the maximum resolution (WQHD+). The competition (OnePlus 8 Pro) has done it, and even with your own screens. So, it's possible.
In conclusion, this is a very good device that didn't deserve the initial price tag it had, but it's worth the current price. I felt it as an upgrade, even coming from the S10.
Last model before the purchase of the S9+. I don't see anything better except for the screen and in some cases photos and videos. I should note as a very negative aspect the increase in temperature sometimes and without reason. With a case, you don't feel it as much, but without one, it catches fire. That's it. As you currently have the S9+, there is no need to buy this, it will miss out on many things and there won't be any substantial improvement beyond the screen for the money you will spend
