The bank employee Joseph K. is arrested one morning without knowing why he is accused. He begins a futile struggle to prove his innocence, while also seeking to uncover what lies behind this enigmatic accusation. However, he encounters insurmountable difficulties everywhere and fails to reach any logical conclusion. The judges remain invisible, the court employees give vague explanations, and what takes place in the courtroom is incomprehensible. Every attempt to prove his innocence falls on deaf ears. Gradually, the noose of guilt weighing him down becomes suffocating, and he gets lost in the labyrinth of a world where the prolonged ambiguity of the absurd takes hold of him. Written in 1914, The Trial is one of the most important novels of the twentieth century. The story of Joseph K. can be read as a quest for the meaning of human existence, a parable expressing the anxiety and alienation of modern man, or a prophecy of the excesses of modern bureaucracy and the irrationality of totalitarian regimes.

Once upon a time, a cage came out and was searching for birds. Kafka is generally a difficult author. The concept of a captive in his own life and in material goods, ignoring the magic of life, was groundbreaking when the book came out. But now, having seen the man from Pantolsk, it seems funny
I read it after many recommendations... I am not a fan of the novel... Quite peculiar, it starts off strong but becomes very verbose and tiresome afterwards... Disappointing ending for me... The main message is that humans prove to be insignificant and incapable of challenging the judicial system or any system in general... Additionally, it seems that the flaws that existed in institutions and various services 100 years ago when the novel was written, unfortunately still exist today...
