With calmness and objectivity, the book attempts to highlight ways of understanding Islam in order to better address xenophobia and particularly Islamophobia, which have manifested to a greater or lesser extent in Greece in recent years due to circumstances.

The main factor distorting the Islamic authenticity by hardline, extremist Muslims worldwide is the misinterpretation of shari'a, which leads to abuse in its application. The answer can come from the "re-negotiation" of shari'a within the modern world, both Muslim and Western. This way, a milder Islamic discourse will be formulated, cleansed from the dominant radical distortions that increasingly make their presence felt. At the same time, other Islamic interpretations and behaviors that overturn stereotypical perceptions of Islam must be promoted.

The author attempts to become a conscious interlocutor of Muslims in order to marginalize Islamist discourse, isolate anachronistic "Islamic" expressions, and foster the creative coexistence of Christians and Muslims.
