Description
The book includes some of the findings of neuroscience related to learning in the classroom and is aimed at educators and education professionals who exercise learning-oriented leadership. Each of the 24 chapters of the book answers a question related to the broader context of learning and offers practical suggestions for applying the findings of neuroscience in the classroom.
The book is divided into six sections, each containing self-contained, brief chapters, each of which can stand on its own in relation to the others. The central theme of the book is the concept of neuroplasticity of the brain and its significant implications for what we have known so far about human intelligence and, by extension, learning. The rest of the book's topics describe concepts such as neurogenesis, neurodiagnosticity, memory, brain physiology, emotion and learning, anxiety, poverty and the brain, movement, bilingualism, multitasking, arts and the brain. The authors emphasize the importance of knowledge of the findings of neuroscience for educators and education professionals in order to enhance learning and promote social justice.
