Perhaps it is the first time that the subject of interdisciplinary and interagency collaboration is approached in the Greek field of social sciences. Specifically, the development of collaboration networks between school units and external professionals (social workers, psychologists, etc.), which is also the subject of this book, is an area that has not been extensively explored in the Greek context. It is understood that there are several textbooks that mention the need for such networks or even describe them, but the application of interdisciplinary collaboration models within and outside the school environment is not regularly encountered. We all who contributed to the writing and preparation of this book believe that this particular textbook will serve as a starting point for understanding what interdisciplinary collaboration means within the school environment and the role that social workers play in the school system, as well as in the relationship between parents and students/children.

By approaching this topic from a systemic perspective, we manage to highlight the usefulness of interdisciplinary collaboration between educators, social workers, and other professionals. The goal is for this book to become a tool for students, educators, social workers, and others, on how we can contribute to the promotion and prevention of problems mainly related to family dynamics within the framework of the school unit. All of the above are presented through empirical case studies and research interventions, combining theory with practice.
