Description

The Ibanez GRX40 electric guitar is aimed at beginners and intermediate guitarists who are looking for a reliable and affordable guitar. The GRX40 features a comfortable and lightweight design, making it easy and ideal for the first steps in learning the electric guitar.

It is suitable for many musical genres, such as rock, metal, blues, and pop, depending on the playing style and the adjustment of the pickups.

HSS Pickup Configuration

The HSS (Humbucker-Singlecoil-Singlecoil) pickup configuration is one of the most popular pickup configurations.

In this configuration, there are three pickups on the guitar body: a humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils in the middle and neck positions.

The two single coil pickups offer a clean and clear sound, as well as good response in the low midrange. The humbucker pickup, on the other hand, provides a warmer and richer sound, as well as greater resistance to feedback.

With this configuration, guitarists can choose different combinations of pickups, thus offering greater flexibility.

Neck construction from Maple wood

The Maple wood used in the neck is an important element for the guitar's acoustics, as it produces a bright and precise tone resulting from the wood's hardness.

Body construction from Poplar wood

The Poplar wood used in the guitar's body offers a balanced sound with an emphasis on the mid and low frequencies, performing well even in more intense playing.

Classic ST Body Shape

The ST body shape it features follows the lines of one of the most widespread electric guitars, like the Stratocaster. Its design has a double-cut body for access to the highest frets and an extended "horn" on the upper side that offers perfect balance during upright playing.

With a wide range of supporters, including Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, David Gilmour, and Jeff Beck, it is clear that the ST Style shape can handle virtually any musical style.

Fretboard made of durable Jatoba wood

The fretboard of the GRX40 has 22 frets and is made from Jatoba wood, which has a fairly high degree of hardness and durability. It features a reddish-brown color and produces a balanced, rich sound in the low and mid frequencies.

T106 tremolo

The T106 tremolo bridge with 6 independent saddles makes it easy to precisely adjust the height and intonation of each string.

I have it now for a year and with a little work on the string height, it is incredible for someone who is starting guitar. The pickups are okay, not the best, but compared to other guitars I have played, they are by far the best, at least the humbucker. The weight is relatively fine. I can easily sit upright for hours

My first electric guitar. I bought it in 2007 and I still have it in 2020. It's perfect. The frets slightly buzz and the pickups are not very responsive, but I've had this guitar for 13 years and let's not forget that Ibanez is one of the renowned brands in the electric guitar industry.
