In this study, an attempt is made - for the first time in Greek and foreign literature - to provide a systematic and comprehensive description of the literary, historical, and social developments that influenced Alexandrian aesthetics and poetry, created the immediate conditions for the Roman Neoteric "turn," and significantly shaped classical poetry during the time of Augustus.
