The Evaluation Criteria correspond to the new syllabus of the nationwide exams, in accordance with the specific guidelines provided by the Ministry and the I.E.P. regarding the content of the questions and their objectives. The criteria follow the Ministry's guidelines for the new evaluation method (Government Gazette 3807/ B 04-09-2018) and the proposed topics of the I.E.P. (27-9-2018), as posted on the official website of the Ministry and the latest training.

For the taught text, the criteria include: 1) One comprehension question of closed or open type 2) Two interpretative questions referring to the content of the excerpts, the attitude of the characters, the context of the era, the structure and composition of the text, and stylistic issues 3) One lexical-semantic question with required etymology, cognates, synonyms, antonyms, maintenance or change of word meanings 4) One closed-type question referring to the literary genre (introduction of works) 5) One commentary and comparison question with a parallel text provided from ancient or modern literature. For the untaught text, the criteria include: 1) One translation question of the text 2) One comprehension question of the text 3) One grammar question 4) One syntax question.
For the examination of the topics, a variety of question types and exercises of graded difficulty are utilized to maintain the students' interest and cultivate their critical thinking skills. For the answers to the questions of the taught text, the information provided by the text itself and the comments of the school textbooks are considered as the basis, and the introductions as the context, according to the new guidelines, while for the answers to the untaught text, the grammar and syntax of middle and high school are used.
