Really plug n play, very easy to install the hard drive (4TB) and immediate recognition by the computer.
I use it connected to a miniPC that I recently bought, not only as a storage for torrents, etc., but also for the files I work with daily. Minimal delay in opening the files the first time (I assume when it is in some form of idle state), but afterwards I don't notice any significant delay - of course, you shouldn't expect the same response as with files stored on an internal SSD, we know what it is intended for.
Fully satisfied so far (2-3 months), I would definitely buy it again.
Amazing case, you change the discs on the fly. I bought two and have been using them for a week now. They work perfectly. Compared to the previous case where you had to screw in 8 screws and they all had to be properly aligned, with this case the discs change in 10 seconds.
Get it with closed eyes.
Good and easy application, good cooling, good uninterrupted connection, on-off button.
In case you have more than one disk inside in 10'', you can switch the disks without tools. You don't even need to screw a screw.
Simply perfect. Give confidently the price difference with the cheaper cases.
I had a 4TB gold WD HDD in a Synology NAS and I took it out and put it in this enclosure.
The assembly is much better than the NAS. It makes the minimum noise that the hard drive can make on its own.
Everything is easy and perfect without any worries. You guys are simply amazing...
I'm coming back after a while.
I bought 2, one works perfectly while the other keeps ejecting any disc I put in.
The issue is that at first I got scared with the new disc, I thought it was reading it, so I put it aside and said, "Now deal with RMA, etc, etc." I put an old one in today and after 5 minutes, I thought, "What the hell, I'll try the other one," and it worked perfectly. So it takes about a month of good use to draw conclusions. Don't buy it unless you find it on sale, what can I say
Easy and fast case. It does exactly what it is intended for. The disk connects easily, simply by pressing it down a little to plug in the connectors, the case opens and closes smoothly and the whole process takes seconds.
Very good quality. I installed a WD 6TB disk, the computer recognized it immediately. No problem.
I use it for file backup and it works great. Despite the 5400 RPM, it doesn't slow down. Maybe it has to do with the 256MB cache. I believe it is a very good enclosure that I would buy again and recommend.
For anyone who wants the disc horizontally and not vertically, it is relatively straightforward. It opens and closes from the button on the box and not with the computer's shutdown (negligible). Very good.
I bought it because I read the reviews.. or maybe I am clueless or I don't know the truth.. the lid doesn't close properly, I couldn't connect it and see anything. Honestly, I wonder what I can do wrong anymore, really!!!
I put the damaged disk and copied everything that was saved on its internal computer, then I put the new one and made the copy again.
Everything went smoothly. Easy installation, immediate recognition and connection, quality construction.
The only thing I didn't like and gave it 4 stars is that the disk keeps working continuously if it is connected.
The disk fits perfectly, easy disk replacement, stability in operation, and better quality than the usual Chinese ones - which are not much cheaper (we are talking about a few euros difference). Highly recommended! I have bought three of these cases and they have been working flawlessly for over a year.
Quite satisfied with the product. The placement of the discs is very easy and simple (a simple slide is essentially, both for placing the disc and for the cover). Overall, I have tried 2 discs so far and both worked normally without any problems. There was also no significant increase in the temperature of the discs beyond normal during their operation, not even after a long full format (not the short one that lasts seconds) which I did on both.
Bulky case, but the volume is necessary for it to be practical. The hard drive goes in and out very quickly, without screws and other procedures, and it has a blue LED when it's functioning. Good quality hard plastic. The best and most practical case I've ever bought.
For the money, the case is perfect. I put a 2 TB disk in it and I haven't encountered any problems. Nice construction with hard plastics, I didn't have any issues with temperatures.
Five stars because it does what it says, for reliability we will see in a few years, but as far as performance is concerned, it is perfect and fast. Keep in mind that with this particular switch it has, after a power outage, you will need to press it again, it's like a computer power switch, it doesn't come back automatically after a power outage.
Update, it continues steadfast and does its job excellently after a year of ownership, so I bought a second one.
It does not have sufficient ventilation and the disk heats up. The only solution is to operate it without the lid, which partially cancels its purpose.
I installed a 2TB hard drive that I removed from MyBook (the WD MyBook had stopped working). It was recognized and the videos played perfectly fine (USB3 connection out of the 2 that the WD had).
I had three hard drives and I decided to throw them away. I had files and I thought who would bother transferring and buying an SSD. So, I decided to keep them. However, now I only have a laptop and not a desktop, so I had to buy a case. The store where I bought it recommended it to me, and I got it for 27, even though I found cheaper ones on Scroutsyton. I didn't regret it for a moment. Everything is easy, from opening the lid to using the hard drive, to starting up with a convenient button on the top left. It is beautiful, functions well, and has very good build quality.
Very simple process: you open it, you put it in, you close it, done.
A hard drive that had been unused for five years because another external controller couldn't recognize it, as soon as I plugged it in: like new!!! It worked, was immediately recognized, appeared in Windows in a fraction of a second, USB 3 satisfactory, with direct access to files. Despite the age and slow speed of the drive, it was very helpful that there is an on-off button, and moreover, it is located in an easily accessible and satisfactory size. As for the quality of the plastic, I found it to be very good. I was very happy with the purchase because it revived a hard drive that I had considered throwing away at some point! And luckily I didn't, so I got my files back :)
Sturdy construction, the disk fits very well inside, expected speeds. The only negative for me (not negative for many) is that I use it for NAS and if there is a power outage, the disk does not return to operation but you have to press the button and turn it on again. This cancels the concept of NAS always being ON and automatic system recovery after sudden outages. So, only 4 stars just to make someone bother to read the review who intends to get the case for NAS.
