"The "Partisans" is a distinct literary text by G. Kotzioulas: a novel but also a memoir, a literary work but also a testimony, a psychograph but also a chronicle. In the "Partisans", a story is described based on events that took place in Epirus during the period of Occupation and Resistance. Lambros Vergus (the author's persona) and his fellow villagers witness the emergence of the first partisan groups in the region; they witness the punishment of the traitor, the ambush, and the clashes with the Italian conquerors, the parallel organization of EDES and EOEA; they live closely the life of the partisans and actively participate in their resistance actions."
