Almost everyone has accepted that Greek mythology is a fascinating fairy tale that has absolutely no relation to prehistoric reality.

However, the systematic study of climate evolution over the last 18,000 years, mainly and its impacts on the Aegean and the rest of Europe, has shown that the early cultural evolution of the inhabitants of the regions around the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean is directly linked to favorable climatic conditions, at the same time when the rest of Europe, north of the Pyrenees and Alps mountain ranges, was dominated by cold (glacial period).

It has also been proven that the genealogical evolution of the gods, as bequeathed to us by Hesiod, follows the paleogeographic evolution of the Aegean during the period between 18,000 and 6,000 years ago.
This book briefly analyzes the physical and geological evolution of the wider Aegean region, as well as some of the earliest technological activities of its prehistoric inhabitants.
