Description

This small book about the life of starets Antonios is not a work of fiction or a pious novel. It is a true story of a contemporary "man of God". Starets Antonios (deacon Alexios) was a charismatic figure. He lived in a very difficult period for the Church, where the atheistic storm wanted to demolish the Church and dissolve the bond of the Russian people with the Orthodox tradition.

He himself lived almost his entire life as a persecuted and wandering person. In the 1930s, he experienced the bitter experience of imprisonment, camps, and exile. He was repeatedly tortured, came to the brink of death many times, and miraculously survived. He lost his sight from the tortures and later became a wandering monk, a blind traveler of God. The distances he traveled in the vast Soviet Union at that time were incredible. Secretly and quietly, as a "subtle aura", he stood for many people as a wise guide, a spiritual father, supporting, strengthening, comforting, and healing.

In 1994, he fell asleep in the Lord and was buried in the Holy Monastery of St. Catherine in Moscow.
