The purpose of this edition is to narrate in detail the efforts of the Bank of Greece to achieve monetary balance and financial stability within the developing economy of Greece from 1928 to 2008. Its ultimate goal is to monitor the history of the Bank during this period and through it highlight the most significant milestones in the evolution of Greece's economic history and banking system.

The edition is accompanied by a digital disc, which includes all the reports of the Governor concerning the years 1928-2008 and submitted to the annual General Assemblies of the Bank's Shareholders.
