The machine is value for money for simple use but also professional without special requirements. Generally, whoever wants a simple vhf/uhf transceiver with few watts, this one is possibly the best choice and this is proven by its wide circulation among people who do not have a license to use such communication means. What I don't like is its inflexible antenna but I don't consider it an important purchasing criterion. Also, the headset included in the package is surprisingly small for my ear and I don't have elf ears.

  At the price it is sold, it may be the ultimate value for money transceiver for a variety of tasks. It is not the best transceiver out there, but at its cost, it doesn't make sense to ask for more. It is very durable without having any particular certification for it, its power is real resulting in very good range (in UHF I have spoken very clearly at a distance of over 7km with mild interference), the sound quality is surprisingly good, its battery is more than enough, and the ability to listen simultaneously (or rather "almost simultaneously," but this is something that the average user will not perceive) to two channels is very useful.

  Where does such a transceiver fall short? In many ways, but the point is that the average user (whether we're talking about a hunter, a security personnel, etc.) in 99% of cases will not need them. For example, its programming is not the easiest in the world (but the programming cable is very cheap and supported by CHIRP, the largest open-source transceiver programming software), its antenna is not one of the best designed in terms of durability (but it can be easily replaced with countless compatible ones), its LED backlight is somewhat indifferent (but we're talking about a transceiver, not a flashlight), you cannot change the programming on the side buttons (so, for example, you cannot make one of them function as a PTT button for the secondary channel), etc. Occasionally, its software may behave strangely (e.g., a channel may be unprogrammed or lose some subtones, etc.), but I have a slight reservation that these behaviors may be due to incorrect user manipulation in the (not very user-friendly) menu, rather than software malfunction.

  I also own a Wouxhoun KG-UV8D, purchased at five times the price and used for several years. Between the two, the Wouxhoun is not worth the price difference for me.

  In conclusion: I wouldn't have it as the exclusive choice if I had to rely on it for my life, but for all other common uses, I can't think of a more decent and economical choice at the moment. Also, let's not forget that it is a Chinese-made product with Chinese quality control, which means there is a somewhat higher chance (compared to other brands) of encountering a piece that has some issue (for example, in a purchase of 20 units, one was found to have a malfunctioning speaker). However, the behavior of the store will play a catalytic role in such cases...

  I bought it on 27-5-2021 from G Mobile & Electronics for 23.81 euros, knowing 2 things that no one mentioned above. Firstly, it doesn't have FCC approval for circulation due to its settings (unbelievable settings and programming), and secondly, even with a radio amateur license, I can't have it with me.
  I use it in industrial areas because of its power to avoid interference from metallic elements. I have also used it over 8 km in open sea, communicating with VHF marine (after programming). It also works perfectly with almost any transmitter-receiver available on the market.
  With a cost of 1 euro, I bought an adapter that connects to BNC, allowing me to attach any antenna I want.
  I never use it in public places.
  Additionally, through the menu, you can save a lot of usage time by cutting unnecessary things

  Economical solution and decent performance. Its battery lasts within reasonable limits, although if you use it intensively, you will need a second one. Compact, durable, but not suitable for extremes. The factory antenna is inconvenient in size and of poor quality. The buttons have started to fade quite early. The positive aspect is the availability of all the extras online at a relatively low cost (even in online purchases from China, the cost is two orders of magnitude lower than in Greece for the exact same products, e.g. 1 antenna for €14, 3 antennas for €1.80). I bought it for a total of €29 (including shipping and cash on delivery), and for the money I paid, I consider it a fair solution. Very useful extras include a short antenna, the microphone, and a case.

  Evaluation 1 year after purchase. Used for 22 days per month, 8-12 hours per day. Unfortunately, the buttons have started to fade, and the battery has decreased in performance, but it is still satisfactory (lasts for 5-6 hours). When it is at 3 bars, it lasts quite a while, but when it drops to 2 bars, it warns you, and at 1 bar, it dies immediately. Buying a second battery helps a lot. Its synchronization is quite complicated (if you have multiple frequencies, it is recommended to get the computer cable). So far, it has definitely been worth the money.

  Well, first of all, let me say something very basic. The wireless one is illegal if you use it on PMR frequencies. I read various comments that are baseless. PMR wireless devices are 0.5w, any wireless device with a power above 0.5w and a detachable antenna is automatically considered amateur radio, regardless of the frequency it transmits on. Although stores sell it freely, a license is required. It is convenient in size, has a long battery life, and the communication range between two similar devices is a maximum of 2 to 3 kilometers, within the city. Outside the city, communications of several kilometers can be achieved. A major drawback of this particular wireless device is its power. The manufacturer claims it is 5w, but it is much smaller. If you have a license, get one or two, they are cheap and may come in handy.
