Description

Theatrical play in five acts, based on the novel by Emile Zola, Nana premiered in Paris, at the Ambigu Theatre, on January 29, 1881.

Zola's masterpiece, "Nana", was adapted for the theater by William Bertrand Busnach, a adaptation that is introduced by Emile Zola himself, noting, among other things: "The story of the drama that comes from the novel "Nana" is very simple [...] When "Nana" was released, Mr. Busnach came to ask me to make the play for the Ambigu [...] If I didn't decide, not only would I be ungrateful to Mr. Busnach, who had such a great success with "La Taverne", but I would also destroy the logical relationship I saw between "La Taverne" and "Nana"..."
