In April 1826, a year had passed since the start of the last siege of Mesolongi. Despite the suffocating grip of the Turkish-Egyptian forces from land and sea, the continuous attacks, and the "rain" of 100,000 bullets that had reduced everything to ruins, the revolutionary flags still proudly waved on the walls of the "Sacred City" of the Greeks. However, a more formidable and relentless enemy - hunger - broke the spirits of the legendary defenders.
