Description

[...] The construction of a road network in a forest complex, i.e. the opening up of the forest, is necessary because it contributes to better forest management, the economy of the region, forest protection, and national defense. Assessing the impacts of road network construction is very difficult to evaluate in economic terms within the framework of known decision-making methods such as cost-benefit analysis and other mathematical methods.

The road network is a fundamental infrastructure project that can significantly contribute to sustainable development and utilization of mountainous, semi-mountainous, and island areas, as well as our national economy in general, and therefore it needs to be examined in conjunction with other issues related to the protection and preservation of our forest wealth and natural resources. It is also a key component of sustainable tourism, which includes tourism and related infrastructure, and operates within the natural capacity for the renewal of natural resources.

In sustainably managed forests, roads, networks, and their technical specifications must be in accordance with natural conditions and land uses, expected movement processes, and landscape aesthetics.

We hope that with this textbook, we can contribute to the construction and optimization of the forest road network, so that it is compatible with the natural environment, which is "borrowed from our children," without ignoring the economic and technical factor for meeting the modern requirements of forest exploitation.
