Description
One of the most significant events in our relatively recent historical journey was undoubtedly the Turkish invasion of Cyprus on July 20, 1974, and the subsequent occupation and continuous plundering of 37% of the Republic of Cyprus. In the summer of 1974, a part of the Greek army, the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK), which had been sent to Cyprus on August 16, 1960, based on the Zurich-London agreements, literally found itself in the eye of the storm of events that swept everything in its path. Alone and utterly helpless, it faced the finest forces the Turkish armed forces had at the time and conducted epic battles without yielding.
This book is a testimony to the self-sacrifice of the officers and soldiers of ELDYK who, with their blood and sweat, watered the Cypriot soil.
The valuable information held by the author, combined with the intense impressions and indelible memories of the events he experienced as an eyewitness, provide the opportunity for an accurate and reliable recording of both the self-sacrifice of the men of ELDYK and the causes that led to it.

Reviews
The author was a protagonist of the events and present in the battle of the ELDYK camp. The last battle of the Greek army in the 20th century. There is no better narration and more comprehensive analysis of the events from the military perspective in any book of the same subject matter.
