The first appearance of the iconic James Bond in Ian Fleming's work "Casino Royale" inaugurates the unique series of books featuring the secret agent 007.

James Bond takes on the challenge at the Casino Royale's gaming table against the Soviet agent Le Chiffre, who embezzled the funding of a labor union and is trying to cover the huge deficit at the baccarat table. This is a joint operation of Britain with the French and American intelligence services, and Vesper Lynd, the secretary of the Chief who devised the plan and will be his assistant.

The attraction between them is clear, but Bond puts duty above all. He manages to defeat Le Chiffre, thanks to the lifesaving assistance of the CIA, and hides the check with the astronomical amount of fifty million francs in an imaginative spot in his hotel room.

When he fails to find the check, Le Chiffre and his men kidnap Vesper, using her as bait to capture Bond. To save her, he will break every rule, leaving destruction in his wake...
