Owner of this particular model for a few months now, in a house where humidity is having a party! So, I will try to be as detailed as possible, based on my own experience so far. I should add that this is the first dehumidifier I have purchased, so I apologize if some things I mention are considered obvious in such devices.
POSITIVES:
1. Using it mainly in the room I sleep in (12 sq.m.), it seems to do its job and lower the humidity to the desired level quite quickly. Of course, don't expect it to last for hours, especially if you live in a house without insulation.
2. The clothes drying function may be time-consuming, but it gives satisfactory results. The clothes dry after a few hours and they also smell great, just like when you take them out of the washing machine.
3. The Wi-Fi function through the TuyaSmart app on Android works perfectly. You don't even need the remote control. (See Negatives 5) You can also schedule the dehumidifier to turn on or off at specific times through your mobile phone, such as in the morning when there is usually high humidity.
4. The atmosphere in the room has significantly improved after using it daily, as there are no more unpleasant odors and I no longer wake up with a sore throat due to humidity and cold. The ionizer and filters in this device definitely help with that.
5. The device has the ability to automatically stop when it reaches the desired humidity levels or when the tank is full, and it starts again when you empty it. A useful feature.
6. The noise level of the dehumidifier is satisfactory overall, similar to that of an air conditioner. In normal or low mode, it doesn't bother much.
7. It has a nice black color and an elegant design for those who pay attention to details, as well as a large temperature/humidity display on the front with corresponding color lighting for easy monitoring of the room without having to approach or use the remote control/mobile phone.
8. It comes with a 10-year warranty for the compressor and a 5-year warranty for the device as a whole. Hopefully, it will never be needed, but it is definitely a very positive aspect, especially if used on a daily basis.
NEGATIVES:
1. The control panel on the top of the device is laughable. When I took the dehumidifier out of the box, it had a scratch and thinking it was a hair, I tried to remove it, but all I managed to do was add another scratch! What material is it made of that scratches so easily with just a fingernail?
2. The handle feels like it can barely handle the weight of the dehumidifier if you want to lift it to move it. The material is so poor that you fear it might break at any moment. The only positive thing is that it closes on its own when you push it back.
3. The wheels. 2 are fixed, 2 can rotate. Who came up with this idea? If you want to move the dehumidifier to a specific spot, you have to make a lot of maneuvers, and there is also the risk of breaking one of the fixed wheels, as it is not that lightweight.
4. The tank. It is small (maybe for my standards, due to the high humidity in my house), but also somewhat clumsily made. It doesn't have anything to hold onto and easily spills or throws water if you're not careful. The same applies when emptying it. So I would like a safer way to remove the container or a handle that would make it easier to move and empty. Also, (for me) it was not unified, but stuck somewhere in the middle and had some marks (usage?) when I opened it. However, I do not know if all Morris containers are like this. Additionally, it would be useful to have a tap at the water outlet, as no matter how long you wait from the moment it indicates that the container is full, it will drip or at worst, a lot of water that is still inside the dehumidifier will run out.
5. The remote control. Another joke. To work, you have to aim at the center like in shooting and still it is not certain! Not to mention that the temperature indication never matches the dehumidifier's indication. Maybe it is not even necessary in devices that have Wi-Fi, as you can do everything from your mobile through the app without struggling to find a target every time.
6. Its weight. It ranges from 16 to 20 kilograms depending on the water it has inside the container. Definitely not something light to move, especially considering the fake handle and the cleverness with the wheels. (See Negative 3)
7. Price. I remember that in well-known chains it cost (or may still cost) around 350€, a price that I think is unaffordable for the average consumer. Personally, I took advantage of a promotion and bonus points to buy it much cheaper, but not everyone has this opportunity, nor are there always offers, especially for those who do not shop online.
8. Build quality. I have mentioned above in detail my concerns and I believe that it does not favor a company like Morris to have such construction issues in premium devices. Personally, I would expect top quality, especially in such an expensive product.
IN CONCLUSION:
The main thing for me is for the device to do its job first and foremost. As long as it does, I will be satisfied. However, I cannot overlook several construction errors/problems that may appear over time and use, and also cost. Morris is not a small company that does not know what functionality, quality, etc. are for its devices. Also, its price is quite high in most stores, which works negatively, especially with so much competition. In short (because I will bore you), if you are not as picky as I am about details and find this specific dehumidifier around 200€, do not hesitate for a moment. That's it!
