"One of the youngest saints is the child martyr Gabriel of Poland. Although only six years old, he attracted the grace of God and was deemed worthy to testify for His love.

A few years ago, I visited the holy Elder Fr. Ephraim of Katounakia. I had just returned from Poland at that time. I told him about the life of St. Gabriel and gave him a small icon of him. He looked at it with emotion, kissed it reverently, and said to me:
- How much grace from God this little child had to be deemed worthy to testify for Christ! Grace comes and makes you an angel. But we also need our own struggle, our own response to the call of grace...".
